| Amazon is betting big on movies next year. Amazon MGM Studios announced at CinemaCon this week that it plans to release 14 movies in theaters in 2026 with the goal of delivering 15 films a year by 2027. "Our commitment is real," Kevin Wilson, Amazon MGM Studios' head of theatrical distribution, said at the event. "We're building out a new international distribution arm to eventize films on a global scale." Some of the studios' upcoming releases include The Accountant 2, which stars Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, and Project Hail Mary, which will star and be produced by Ryan Gosling. After their initial release in theaters, these films will eventually be available to stream on Prime Video. |
