Teacher educator webinar series review 2025–2026

Join us on 19 March for a webinar where we reflect upon our 2025–2026 teacher educator webinar themes and ideas. Join our speakers Graham Stanley, Şirin Soyoz, and Ellen Darling for an interactive review of the themes and key messages from series four of British Council's monthly webinar programme. Discuss and reflect on some of the most important current issues in teacher education. Certificates of attendance are available for all attendees.

Webinars: Belonging matters

Join us on 13 March for two practical and experience-based webinars with experts, Mai Tuyet Ngo from Vietnam, Donna Lim from Singapore, and Yustinus Calvin Gai Mali from Indonesia. The speakers from Southeast Asia will focus on student well-being and the inclusion of home languages in the classroom to foster a sense of belonging. Explore strategies to create welcoming and inclusive learning spaces that enhance language learning by promoting well-being and belonging.

MOOC: Managing learners and resources

This free, three-module, self-access online course helps you learn how to manage resources, groupings and differentiation effectively to help build positive relationships with students in your classroom. Identify strategies to address issues with group dynamics and mixed-ability classes. Describe the importance of classroom rapport. Develop differentiated activities for your students. Evaluate how group interaction and seating patterns benefit learning. Enrolment closes on 24 March.

MOOC: Digital competences for teaching English

This free, three-module, self-access online course helps you discover how to integrate digital tools to support language learning, collaboration, formative assessment and effective feedback. Improve your digital communication skills and teamwork in your professional context and learn about online continuing professional development.

Podcast: What is the impact of artificial intelligence on English language teaching?

In this episode, the podcasters discuss the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on English language teaching. Hear from Svetlana Kandybovich, an AI educator from Montenegro, who shares the pros and cons of AI, highlighting the importance of human reasoning and the teacher's role in learning. Word of the month: Human first approach

A human first approach prioritises student needs and well-being, ensuring that digital tools enhance learning while focusing on safety, privacy, ethics, and human oversight. The British Council report on Artificial intelligence (AI) and English language teaching notes that teachers use AI for creating materials, learner practice, and assessing progress. However, they have mixed feelings about its impact and safety due to insufficient training and support.
