Enhance STEM learning and improve communication skills through science with Learning Sectors

Dear Educator

Following a hugely successful first year, with over 150,000 students taking part worldwide, Learning Sectors is back and even better.

This international partnership programme from the British Council, supported by Formula 1, gives Indian pupils aged 7–16 in CBSE, ICSE and State Board schools the opportunity to work with a partner school in the UK on a shared STEM challenge.

Together, your pupils will explore real-world issues, using STEM to develop solutions that can make a positive difference in their communities, while building confidence, curiosity and global awareness.

Understanding STEM is vital, but so is communicating it, something Formula 1 demonstrates through its global broadcasting platform. New for this year, Learning Sectors includes a stronger focus on communication skills, supporting pupils to express ideas clearly, collaborate effectively and present their thinking with confidence alongside their STEM learning.

Supported by Formula 1, the programme will include a range of experiences for participating schools, from virtual sessions and interactive activities to potential in-person opportunities where available.

Why take part?

  • Collaborate with a partner school in the UK
  • Explore STEM through real-world challenges
  • Access ready-to-go, flexible classroom resources
  • Activities that help with teaching effective cross-curricular oracy
  • Inspiring virtual sessions for schools
  • In person opportunities where available
  • Build pupils’ communication and teamwork skills
  • Free to take part

Learning Sectors begins in early October, making it an ideal opportunity for Indian schools to strengthen plans and collaborations for the remainder of the academic year.
