Monthly Connect: Celebrating books

British Council logo

Library newsletter

Dear Member,

April is here, bringing a celebration of books—their power to inspire, inform, and transport us. Whether you're diving into a novel, exploring new ideas, or sharing a story with a little one, books spark imagination and shape perspectives.

This month at the British Council Library, we're honouring the written word with Culture Fridays, featuring literature, film, and poetry, and Fun-Filled Saturdays, packed with movies, storytelling, and book clubs for young readers.

As a part of celebration, don't miss engaging discussions, including Dr. Thamizhachi Thangapandian, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) on Beatrice Webb's legacy. Experience Shakespeare's King Lear in the National Theatre's powerful adaptation. Plus, explore our curated book picks, from Books of the Year to beloved book-to-screen favourites.

Join us for a month of literary adventures—whether through live conversations, screenings, or weekend activities.

Happy reading!
